The short answer: it doesn't. Our top picks are determined by research, not by commission rates. Here's our policy in plain terms:

  • No brand or manufacturer can pay to be our top recommendation. Rankings are earned, not purchased.

  • If the best product in a category is not available on Amazon or through any affiliate program, we still recommend it and explain where to buy it.
